From Ukraine to Huntsville: Building Secure Titanium Supply Chains Through Advanced Manufacturing

May 5, 2025

By Jim Simpson, CEO, Titomic

Recent headlines highlighting a new U.S.-Ukraine titanium agreement mark a critical step toward strengthening allied supply chains for one of the world’s most strategic metals. Titanium is the backbone of aerospace, defense, energy, and space systems—and securing its sourcing and processing has never been more vital.

At Titomic, we are proud to stand at the intersection of critical mineral supply and advanced manufacturing. Through our partnership with Velta, a leading Ukrainian titanium producer, we are leveraging Ukrainian-origin titanium sponge refined in the U.S. to power our additive manufacturing facility in Huntsville, Alabama.

Why does this matter? Because the world’s titanium supply chains have long been dominated by adversarial sources, creating vulnerabilities for the defense industrial base. By transforming allied titanium into mission-ready components inside the U.S., Titomic is enabling an industrial renaissance rooted in secure supply, advanced technology, and national resilience.

Our proprietary Kinetic Fusion™ additive manufacturing allows rapid, scalable production of titanium parts for aircraft, missiles, hypersonics, energy systems, and critical infrastructure. We’re bridging a secure supply of critical minerals with the capacity to produce high-performance components without the delays, costs, or risks of offshore processing.

This U.S.-Ukraine titanium agreement reinforces a growing ecosystem of allied cooperation. It’s an ecosystem Titomic is proud to support—by ensuring that every titanium component we produce contributes to a safer, stronger, and more resilient industrial base for the U.S. and its partners.

Let’s continue building together.
